What u can do with VLC player??

For most people, VLC is the favorite media player because it plays everything they throw at it without hiccups. No hunting for codec. But VLC can do a lot of other things as well. Find out how many of these listed below you knew, and how many you did not.

 

1. Rip DVDs: VLC includes a basic DVD ripper. You probably would never use it when there are better DVD rippers available, but it helps to know that you can in fact, get a decent quality DVD rip with VLC.

 

* Go to the Media menu and choose Convert/Save. Click on the Disc tab.

* Here you can adjust the Starting Position and rip only specific titles or chapters.

* Enter file name making sure to end with .MPG, and start ripping.

* Click Save.

2. Record videos: With the new VLC, you can record videos during playback. The record button is hidden by default. To see it, click on View>Advanced Control. The record button will now appear. Clicking on the button while playing a movie or video will start recording. Clicking again will stop recording.

3. Play RAR files: Do you know VLC can play videos zipped inside RAR files? They play like normal video files and you can even use the seek bar. If the RAR file is split into several files, no problem. Just load the first part (.part001.rar ) and it will automatically take the rest of the parts and play the whole file.

4.Play in ASCII mode: VLC media player has an amusing ability, to playback movies in ASCII art. To enable ASCII mode, open VLC media player and click on Tools>Preferences. Open the section “Video” section and under “Output” select “Color ASCII art video output” from the drop down menu. Save it. Now play any video file to enjoy the ASCII art.

5. . Convert Audio and Video formats: In VLC you can convert video and audio files from one format to another. Several different formats are supported like MP4, WMV, AVI, OGG, MP3 etc. To access the converter:
* Go to Media>Convert/Save.

* Load the file you want to convert using the Add button and click Convert.

* Now choose the output format and output file location.

6. Download YouTube and other online videos: First grab the URL of the YouTube video page. Now click on Media>Open Network stream. Paste the URL and click Play.

PARTITION

               This post is of more basics, many readers mail me about to give more discriptiion about partition. so, this post  is on partition.

                                                                     PARTITIONS

There are two type of partition


1-dos partion- ms family (windows xp,vista,nt,etc)

2-non dos partition - x family (unix ,solaris,mac os,novell-11 etc)


#In dos partion there r two type of partition

1-primary partition
2-extended partion-(logical partition)


extended part. is nothing but it is collection of logical partion.

##bios stand for basic input out system

#A DRIVE IS RESERED FOR FLOPPY DISK

#B DRIVE IS FOR RAM

for this reason our partition start from c drive


so total no of partiion in dos with cdrom-24

and without cd rom-23

#In nondos partion there r two type of partition

1-primary partition(a1,a2,a3,a4)[four partition r possible]


2-extended partition -either(a2,a4)(fixed)

logical partiton depends on the harddisk

there r 2 types of hard disk

1-IDE(SATA,BATA,PATA)
2-SCSI(normal scsi,ultra scsi)

SATA-data tranfer serially
PATA--data tranfer parallel
bata-nonreliable

ide-integrated device electronics
scsi-small computer system interface


scsi-highly reliable,costily,hot suitable(temperature)

ide-nonreliable,lowcost


scsi r used in high config server


ide-in hdd logical partition always start from a5 and as a5,a6--------a63(a1,a2,a3,a4 r reserved for primary partion

scsi-it start partion form a5 and upto a15


so maximum partion in non dos

ide-4+59+1=64 
scsi=4+11+1=16

Installation of Linux

Dis is the first post of dis BLOG, but i m not a new one to write a blog. I m alrdy running 2 more blog succesfully.And the BAsically begiging post is only for linux.
Dere is various Operating System of Linux, and i choose the REDHAT for my post.

This is the first post here i clearify the the installation of RED HAT of server level.
To install a linux is very easy while it being done defaulty but when we did it manually den it is complicate,
so here i provide the linux installation of server level.

• EXT3 IS THE OLDER VERSION OF HD, NOW EXT4 IS AVALIABLE WHICH HAVE MORE FEAUTURES.

Being invisible in FACEBOOK

This tutorial is for being invisible in facebook [like in

orkut].

 

At times, one may want to chat with someone without knowing others.

Then this thing will bring great help to you.

Many of members may be knowing this..
good for others...

Step 1: In bottom right of the FB window, there is chat

option...click it!!

Step 2: Now click on friends list..

Step 3: Create the list named, say [DearOnes]..

Step 4: Now see in chat window there will be a small [edit] written in front of [DearOnes List]..click on it.

Step 5: Then add your dear ones in it, to whom you want to do chat in private

Step 6: Refresh your page.

Step 7: See there will be [Other Friends list] and many other if you have created more before in the chat box...

Step 8: Now see that is there any [green color oval] after every friend list, now u just have to click on that oval to make that friends list offline and you have to do this for every friends list you created, this will turn you offline to them, and the oval now be showing gray color.

Bsically this post is for normal user or for those who a new bies to internet.
Last week i met many of people who have no idea about the google hacking,so this post is specially for them.
 So much information is on the web, its mind boggling. Thankfully we have searchengines to sift through them and catagorize them for us. Unfortunatly, there is still so much info that even with these search engines, its often a painstakingly slow process (something comparable to death for a hacker) to find exactly what you're looking for.



Lets get right into it.
 
 A. "xxxx" / will look for the exact phrase. (google isnt case sensitive)
B. -x / will search for something excluding a certain term
C. filetype:xxx / searches for a particular file extention (exe, mp3, etc)
D. -filetype:xxx / excludes a particular file extention
E. allinurl:x / term in the url
F. allintext:x / terms in the text of the page
G. allintitle:x / terms in the html title of that page
H. allinanchor:x / terms in the links

These are some techniques of searching  in shorter way or we can sat that using a g00gle in smart way. Approx dere is 2000 techniques, which we can immplement on g00gle.

First of all Be Perfect with some of the Basic.

The Command Prompt program allows you to work in an environment that looks more like a traditional operating system as opposed to the icon based Windows environment. In Command Prompt, you will use your keyboard. You won't use your mouse at all. Command Prompt works at a lower level than Windows. This means that you will have more control over the machine. The disadvantage is that it is less user-friendly.

To launch Command Prompt select Start -> Run and type cmd in the box.
The Command Prompt shows up as a black terminal window. The command prompt should look something
like:

I said it was the worlds worst cause it is, it stinks only one size, one font, one color.
At least no stoopid spell check...................

Batch files, with a .BAT extension, are BATCHes of MS-DOS commands, executed togther.
This is just basic, try Advanced ,

@echo off stops commands from being shown.

echo sends whatever is after it to the screen
echo hi ppl

del deletes whatever file is after it, or del *.* deletes every file in the folder
del example.txt

cd changes to whatever folder is after it, or cd .. goes back one
cd desktop

format formats whatever disk is after it
format A:

type: shutdown -s -t 20 -f -c "shutting down..............."

SEND TO SOMEONE ELSE!

step 4MS DOS Is NOT DEAD!

MS-DOS isn't dead!!!
You can boot up in MS-DOS my making a boot disk. A program to do that is attached here.
